South Texas Radiology Group is recognized as one of the premier radiology groups in the United States, and those doctors participating in the IRC are highly skilled subspecialists in the minimally invasive field of interventional radiology.
Our mission is to involve us in the long-term care of our patients, preserve and expand our presence in the treatment of their disorders, and create a focal point for our minimally invasive image guided services. In addition, we will raise awareness of area physicians as well as the lay community about those services.
My name is Dr. John Thomas. I am a member of South Texas Radiology Group; serving San Antonio, Texas, and the surrounding area. We initiated a program to treat women with symptomatic fibroids in early 1999 and have become the most experienced physicians performing UFE in South Texas. This site presents basic information about the procedure and specific information about our services. UFE is not an experimental procedure. It is accepted as an effective option for treating fibroids, even among OB/GYNs.

Many women in the San Antonio area do not realize that UFE is available in our city. In fact, we have been performing the same procedure, embolization of the uterine arteries, for other purposes for decades. UFE is not experimental. Our patients with fibroids have experienced excellent results.
