In today’s video I tell you guys my braces 101 which is my complete experience of getting them on and life with them so far! I tell you about the procedure, the colors, and a before and after of 3 weeks of having them! In the beginning I give you a miniature time lapse, and then throughout talking about the procedure, I tell you about the pain of getting them on, my tips to prevent it, why I chose my colors, and how long I plan on having them! I cover all you need to know about what to do in the first few weeks which for some, can be dreadful! I am going to be doing braces updates about where I am later in the future, so definitely let me know if you want to see that! I even tell you about the best supplies and my info on how to prepare! I don’t have any appliances currently, and I don’t have rubber bands quite yet, but when I get my bottom braces on (I only have top braces right now) I will definitely mention it! I should only need braces rubber bands for a few months and the goal is to get these off by September 2016, so give me your best wishes! Anyways I hope you enjoyed 🙂

Our smile is one of our greatest assets. It indicates we are happy, approachable, kind, and friendly. But a key component with expressing your smile is showing your teeth which is great if you like your smile and you take care of your teeth. We all have clean and hygienic teeth by brushing and flossing twice a day. Is this common sense? yes, but it’s funny because even though you know it, many don’t do it. Flossing is the wild card, but you need to do this religiously. If you do nothing else, a clean mouth with twisted teeth is a whole lot better than a funky mouth (unsightly and smelly!).

The next piece of the smile equation is going to the dentist every 6 months for a check-up and cleaning. If you currently don’t have a dentist, you need to go! The dentist can take care of things that are going on — and if you catch them early, it’s easier to get it under control and manage. Dental insurance is less expensive than medical insurance.

Those who take care of your teeth but are self-conscious of their teeth, options and treatments are out there to fix your smile and confidence. You are never too old to fix your teeth. Teeth whitening is available. There are options like that Invisalign that are more subtle than old-school braces. You can finance your grill too! Explore your options. If there’s something as fixable as your smile holding back from you having your best life, you need seek help and get it fixed.
